Can u break glass
My only real waypoint for BWV 1009 of sonic substance heretofore was a Russian cellist with Berliozine coif- but this one captures that chalumeau sort of quality that the viola has over the violin (whatever the proper term is in violspeak). Very nicely done... 'til the Oblivion transcription- which is superbly so. The masses don't get Piazzolla's take on his own stuff: it becomes arbitrarily some platform of fashion plates in a display of their own ego, when his own take was that the music was to be enjoyed for itself (much as occupying armies will pillage the silver for target practice, entirely ignorant of its value in creative inspiration, these good folks just use the court musicians behind the curtain for a cruise fest, as it were. Tedious. They even TALK over the music. Loudly). Maybe one has to be there to feel this. That Maya transcribed the piece further evinces a connection to the composer's intentions that I think he would dearly approve: the music for the sake of its own richness; something the mirror gazers simply will never get, but that he would smile upon her to know. I will be brash enough to pass this event along to a Mr. Asarnow, who is one of those who appreciates A.P.'s work for its musicality as do you. He plays it for its own sake as well. Thank you for sharing your gift(!)
Great job, Nathan! Beautiful playing.
Fun piece. Had to pinch it. As to your all seeing what you're up to- I'd be happy with concert border for such talent. It was the Forever Tango guy who started the banda in the dark too. I thought that only clavecin students got blindfolded for practice (in my texts).. All respect to the Artists. I very much admire what all of you put into performance, trust me...
but wait- there's more! So much, I missed this week. What I don't miss in this nifty spread is right at the top; those superfluous dancers to music which Piazzolla himself said was for listening, not dancing... (OK, not sure on this piece, but he did indeed express that, and definitely applicable to his Porteños and some others) This is so much better enjoyed sans those fashion plates crashing that L.A. Phil tango thing. UCD again produces these subtle gems..
I love the Desert Fables! Thanks for including them.
Well done throughout, Crisia. Big congratulations!!
...an oasis of steady purity within our tumultuous velocity marks such a refreshing break. There's good reason that the Artists maintain a sphere of human spiritual potential amid those who pursue the practical, and those who undertake this endeavor are specially gifted to inspire the rest. Thank you, Crisia et Cie, and as always, thanks to UCD. This visit has been an infusion of life after veritable eons away.
Wow... As the clicks of the jacks and scratches of plectra form the dots on the harpsichord's landscape, so, too, those cello harmonics opened my scope to this instrument as I sought to faithfully portray them in recording a performer whom I was lucky to meet, and to portray them for. The work herein frees them. Happily enough UCD of long ago to not even recognize a box out of which to think, I am still inspired by the dynamism of those who constitute its human energy: limitless thinking undeflected by even the concept of a limit (as there are in typical recording, sadly. Some do their best to select against the full character of instruments). A very nice experience for me, thank you(!)
Yay! Go Megan, Kona, Tatiana, and Rachel - they did such a wonderful job 💞🥹 (that’s just my baby dog 🐩)

亡き王女のためのパヴァーヌ (pavane for a dead princess)は何度聞いても素晴らしいです。今まで聞いた様々なピアニストの演奏のなかでロビさんの演奏が一番好きです。My favorite is Pavane for a dead princess, and among all the performances by so many artists, yours is my favorite! So beautiful!

Dear Stephanie, I really enjoyed and appriciate your work and performance! I myself am a Mezzo-Soprano and I am searching for new music. Your last performance of Love's Witness striked me the most! I was wondering: would ik be possible to buy/borrow the sheet music for this piece? I would love to add it to my repertoire! Thank you so much. Best wishes, Stefanie
